Angelo State University will host The Batik Quartet for a clarinet performance at 2 p.m. this Sunday, Oct. 12, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.The free concert will be in the EFA Building’s Eldon Black Recital Hall and is open to the public.

The Batik Quartet is composed of Dr. Tim Bonenfant, ASU associate professor of music, on the Bb clarinet and bass clarinet, and three music professors from Pennsylvania universities. Dr. Michelle Kiec, associate dean of visual and performing arts at Kutztown University, will play Bb clarinet and Eb clarinet; Dr. Christy Banks, associate professor at Millersville University, will play Bb clarinet; and Dr. Soo Goh, assistant professor of clarinet at Kutztown University, will play Bb clarinet and alto clarinet.

The program will include “Three Preludes” by George Gershwin, “Adam’s Apple” by Virko Baley and arranged by Bonenfant, “Autumn Art” by Theresa Martin, “Mexican Suite” by Mike Curtis, and “Four for Tango” by Astor Piazzolla.
