University Theatre at Angelo State University will present a twist on a seasonal favorite, “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play,” for its 2013 Holiday Dinner Theatre Nov. 21-24 and Dec. 5-7 in the ASU Modular Theatre.
Show times will be at 8 p.m. Nov. 21-23 and Dec. 5-7, with doors opening for dinner at 6:45 p.m.  A matinee performance is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, with dinner served at 12:45 p.m.

Tickets are $12.50 for ASU students and activity card holders, $15 for non-ASU students and Arts at ASU subscribers, and $20 general admission.  The Modular Theatre is located in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

“It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” is a stage adaptation of the 1946 Frank Capra-directed movie starring James Stewart.  The stage play presents the story of George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams to help others and whose Christmas Eve crisis brings about the intervention of his guardian angel, as a 1940s radio show.  The play is an adaptation by Joe Landry that has been produced throughout the U.S. since 1997.

The ASU production is being directed by Mike Burnett, assistant professor of theatre and assistant director of University Theatre.

The student cast includes Lance Turner as radio announcer Freddie Filmore, Cameron O’Briant as Jake Laurents portraying George Bailey, Tessa Handlin as Sally Applewhite playing Mary Hatch, Rebecca Sussdorf as Lana Sherwood, Jonathan Lopez as Harry Heywood, Mason Gable as the radio show’s stage manager and technician, Brian Carter as Male No. 4, Heather Walker as Female No. 3, Caden Glass as Foley Artist No. 1 and Jaslyn Diaz as Foley Artist No. 2.

The production crew includes Shelby Johnson, stage manager; Kala Young, assistant stage manager; Jacob Scott, scenic design/charge painter; Matthew Chilcoat, lighting design; Eldra Sanford, costume design; Lance Labadelle, sound design/sound operator; Cassandra Trautman, props master; Leslie Schiers, assistant props; Danisha Brown, master electrician; Adam Rich, wardrobe supervisor; Shakira Muhammad, assistant wardrobe supervisor; Collyn Glaspie, house manager; and Chloé Casey, maître d.’
