Angelo State University President Brian J. May has appointed a six-member search committee to make recommendations for a new vice president for finance and administration (VPFA).
The committee will be led by co-chairs Dr. David P. Dewar, president of the ASU Faculty Senate and associate professor of history, and Brian M. Braden, executive director of information technology.

Other members are Dr. Nancy Allen, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs; Preston Wimberly, Student Government Association president; Dr. Joseph C. Rallo, vice chancellor for academic affairs and chief of staff, Texas Tech University System (TTUS); and Jim Brunjes, vice chancellor and chief financial officer, TTUS.

Committee members will accept and review applications, then forward the names of finalists to May for consideration.  The goal is to have the position filled by Aug. 31.

ASU’s vice president for finance and administration is the chief financial officer of the university and reports to the president.  Responsibilities include overseeing financial operations, including budgeting and reporting, as well as facilities and human resource management.  Angie Wright has served as interim vice president for finance and administration since last march when then VPFA Michael L. Reid resigned to take a similar position at the University of Montana in Missoula.

The ASU vice presidential position is responsible for the Budget Office; Human Resources; Information Technology; Business Services; Controller’s Office; Facilities Management; Facilities Planning and Construction; Materials Management; Special Projects; University Police; Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management; OneCard; and Parking Services.
