Angelo State University’s Educator Preparation Information (EPI) Center is joining with the Give More HUGS nonprofit organization and San Angelo’s Teacher Supply Store for a school supplies drive to benefit the children of Moore, Okla., and the Caribbean nation of Dominica.
The drive will run from Tuesday, June 18 through July 12 with drop-off stations in the EPI Center and Teacher Supply Store. The EPI Center is located in Room 287 of ASU’s Carr Education-Fine Arts Building, 2602 Dena Drive. The Teacher Supply Store is at 310 N. Chadbourne St.

All types of school supplies will be accepted, including pencils, pens, folders, notebooks, erasers, rulers, paper, pencil sharpeners, markers, crayons, glue, colored pencils and backpacks.

“Dominica’s children do not have access to the abundance of school supplies we have here in the United States,” according to Give More HUGS President Chris McGilvery. “And, due to the recent storms in Moore, there are many children who need school supplies to have a successful start to the new school year.”

The Give More HUGS organization was founded in Lamesa to help schools, teachers and students in need. More details are available online at www.givemorehugs.org.
