ASU Junior Second D.C. Intern

Perry Stafford, a junor at Angelo State University, has been selected as the second participant in the ASU Political Science and Philosophy Department’s Internship Program in Washington, D.C.
A political science and philosophy double major from San Angelo, Stafford will spend the upcoming fall semester working as an intern for a member of the U.S. Congress.  He will stay at the Texas Tech House and receive an $8,000 ASU scholarship to help defray the costs of living in Washington, D.C.

Open to ASU upperclassmen with a major or minor in political science, the internship program is designed to help participating students develop networking skills and build knowledge of public policy.  The students also earn six credit hours in political science.  Senior political science major Chase Sauvage of San Antonio was the first ASU participant in the program in 2013.

Stafford is an executive officer of ASU’s chapter of the Pi Sigma Alpha political science national honor society and second vice president of the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity, as well as a member of the campus Philosophy Club and Russian Club.
