The select ensemble first performed at the Hermitage in 2014. Members are sopranos Patti Wetzel and Alexis Joliff, altos Suzi Reynolds and Brenda Wellen, tenors Ben Hubert and Jason White, and basses Mark Cooper and Cameron O’Briant. The group’s conductor and pianist is Dr. Pamela Lee, ASU director of choral activities since 1994.

The concert is free and open to the public. The program will include “Caroling, Caroling,” “This Is Christmas” and “Some Children See Him” by Alfred Burt; a creative pairing of the medieval plainchant, “Of the Father’s Love Begotten,” and the Marian hymn, “Lo How a Rose”; “He Came Here for Me” by Ron Nelson; the Jamaican-style spiritual, “Mary’s Boy Child,” by Jester Hairston; a bossa nova arrangement of “Amazing Grace”; Vince Guaraldi’s “Charlie Brown Christmas” and Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride,” as well as the classics “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Merry Christmas, Darling.”

The Carmelite monks will also open the Hermitage gift shop for Christmas season shopping. For directions to the Mount Carmel Hermitage, go online to www.carmelitehermits.org.
