Area Agency On Aging in Mertzon on Tuesday

The Area Agency on Aging of the Concho Valley strives to provide information, assistance, and services to the older citizens of Irion County. AAA staff will be presenting information about Medicare Open Enrollment and will be available to help seniors on an individual basis on Tuesday , Oct. 15, 2013 at 11:00 p.m. until 1 p.m. at the Community Wide Luncheon @ The Mertzon Community Center off of Hwy. 67 in Mertzon.

Needing to learn more about services offered? “Answers on Aging” is designed to provide information about services and programs available to older individuals. Needing to apply for services? Intake Specialists will be available to assist you with any questions you may have. Programs that are housed in the Area Agency on Aging include: Advocacy (Texas Silver Haired Legislature), Benefits Counseling, Care Coordination (Prescription & Utility assistance), Caregiver Support, Foster Grandparent Program (Mentoring Children), Ombudsman Program (Advocates for Long-Term Care Residents), Senior Companion Program (Companions for the Elderly), and 2-1-1 Texas of the Concho Valley (Information and Referral for health and human services). A wide variety of printed information regarding each program and related information will also be available.
