Angelo State University’s Veterans Educational and Transitional Services (VETS) Center will host a Veterans Day Celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. in the central spine of the University Center and is open free to the public. Activities will include the singing of the national anthem by an airman from Goodfellow Air Force Base and presentations by several ASU veteran students and staff members. Free patriotic buttons and stickers and light refreshments will be available to attendees.

Additionally, the local Dog Jazz therapy dog organization will have an information booth in the University Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where trainers will be available to answer questions and give demonstrations on the handling of therapy dogs and proper interactions with the dogs and their owners. Representatives will also be on hand from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Concho Valley Workforce Development Board, Concerned Veterans of America and other veteran-related organizations.

ASU veteran students will also be invited to the VETS Center for lunch and the presentation of the inaugural “ASU Military Veteran Student” T-shirts.
