Angelo State University’s Wind Ensemble will present a free public concert on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the University Auditorium located inside the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Ave. N.

Titled “An American Ride,” the concert will feature music by American composers. The program will include “An American Salute” by Morton Gould, “Chorale and Alleluia” by Howard Hanson, “Concord” by Clare Grundman, Ronald Lo Presti’s “Elegy for a Young American,” “Sabre and Spurs” by John Phillip Sousa and “Ride” by Samuel R. Hazo.

The concert will also feature the world-premiere performance of Jonny Priano’s “Psalm 23” arranged by Dr. Jonathan Alvis, ASU director of bands and assistant professor of music.

The Wind Ensemble is one of the premier instrumental performing ensembles at ASU and is directed by Alvis.
