Angelo State University’s Wind Ensemble will present a free public concert titled “Under the Big Top” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, in the ASU Auditorium in the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Avenue N.

The concert will feature fun and familiar circus-themed music, including “Thunder and Blazes,” arranged by Laurendeau, “In the Center Ring” by Sheldon, “Dance of the Jesters” by Tchaikovsky, “Bravura” by Duble, “Circus Polka” by Stravinsky, “Galop” by Shostokovich and “The Day the Clowns Cried” by Hilliard.

Trent Shuey, ASU assistant director of bands and Basketball Pep Band conductor, will conduct “Portrait of a Clown” by Ticheli. Area high school juniors and seniors will be special guest performers on “Barnum & Bailey’s Favorites.”

The Wind Ensemble is one of the premier instrumental performing ensembles at ASU and is directed by Dr. Constance Kelley, associate professor of music and interim director of bands.
