The Angelo State University Small Business Development Center has 2 training opportunities this week.

“Discover the Benefits of SBA Certification Programs”, Wednesday, August 3rd at 3:00 P.M. Admission is free.

Did you know:

- You can self-certify for certain SBA Programs.

- These certifications enable you to gain preferential access to sell your products and services to the government entities.

-You can apply for some of these certifications online.

8(a) Business Development Program—The 8(a) Business Development Program is a nine-year program established to assist eligible socially and economically disadvantaged individuals to start, grow and succeed in their business ventures. Business development assistance includes one-on-one counseling, training, workshops and other management and technical guidance. All firms deemed eligible for SBA’s 8(a) business development assistance are also considered small disadvantaged business concerns for federal contracting purposes.

HUBZone—The HUBZone program helps small businesses located in economically distressed urban and rural communities, known as Historically Underutilized Business Zones, gain access to federal set-aside and sole-source contracts, as well as price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions.

Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB)—The WOSB Federal Contract Program authorizes contracting officers to set aside certain federal contracts for eligible women-owned small businesses and economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses.

“The Fundamentals of Cash Flow”, will be this Thursday, August 4th at 6:00 pm. Admission is free.

Managing your cash flow can be tricky! At this training event they will help you better understand how to maximize your cash flow and keep a steady flow moving in and out of your business. Various topics will be covered, and key terms to help you manage your cash flow such as: fixed & variable costs, contribution margin, and your break-even point.
