6 Can’t-Miss Events at AmericanaFest 2016

On Tuesday (Sept. 20), thousands of Americana fans and industry types will descend on Nashville for the 17th annual Americana Music Festival & Conference. AmericanaFest 2016 will feature more than 200 acts performing at 14 venues throughout Music City, plus a week's worth of panels and parties, as well as the 2016 Americana Music Awards -- in other words, a lot to cram into six days!

The trouble with a festival as expansive as AmericanaFest is, there will always be a conflict. Thursday night at 10PM alone, festivalgoers will have to choose between seeing Lori McKenna (12th & Porter), Reckless Kelly (Mercy Lounge), Sunny Sweeney (High Watt) and Lucie Silvas (5 Spot) -- oh, and then there's Rodney Crowell (Cannery Ballroom) and Lydia Loveless' (Communion Presents at the Anchor) sets, both of which begin at 10:30PM ... and we could go on. For situations such as those, The Boot's best advice is to flip a coin -- it's what we'll be doing -- but picking and choosing events during the daytime is (thankfully) a bit easier.
