Nothing in Texas shines brighter than San Angelo in December. Our over the top holiday traditions and lights make people fall instantly in love with our city and its Christmas aesthetic. Celebrate for the holidays with Christmas at the Coop exhibition. This exhibit lets us look at Christmas décor in a whole new way.

Visitors can explore the history of the most common Christmas decorations and maybe even find some new ones. They can even make a few of their own!

Christmas at the Coop will be open during Family Day Give Back on December 10th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be free hot cocoa, a dollhouse display, and an electric toy train, free pictures with Santa (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.)  art activities and a community Christmas decoration display.

The YMCA will also help to exhibit Christmas art from 20 local elementary school campuses. Vote for your favorite artwork and the top three receive prizes from SAMFA.

Children and adults can also create their own holiday picture frames and ornaments. The best part? It’s all FREE, fun and educational!

Christmas at the Coop will also be open December 15th during Art Walk from 6-8 p.m. Stephen Central Library’s Steam Central will have laser cut Christmas Ornaments to create.Visitors can enjoy free mulled wine and hot cocoa, a special viewing of A Charlie Brown Christmas, and even create their own “ugly” Christmas sweater ($5 donation required).

Have some Christmas decorations you are interested in displaying in the Exhibit? Share them with the community! Please contact Museum Educator Tiff Ellwanger @ studio@samfa.org or call 325-653-3333.
