5th Annual Christian Youth Hunter Education Weekend

5^th Annual Christian Youth Hunter Education Weekend is this weekend with Jim & Melony Roche & Gary Riddle, TPWD Instructors.Presented by “Adventure in Youth Missions”, 501(c)3 non-profit youth ministry and held at the Magnum Lodge in Eldorado, TX.  (1 mile north of Eldorado on the east side of Hwy. 277)

9:00am     Morning Class

12:30pm    Lunch

2:00pm     Afternoon class, guest speakers, instructional videos

7:00pm     Outdoor Supper

8:00pm           Music, Christian speakers, Campfire smores, Group Prayer

Sunday, Aug. 24

7:30am            Breakfast

8:00am            Class (target practice, exam & course certification)

9:30am            Family Fishing

11:00am          Outdoor Worship Service

12:00pm         Lunch & awards

1:00pm           Departure

“NEWLY APPROVED” YOUTH FRIENDLY TPWD HUNTER ED COURSE.  It will be a weekend of learning about firearm safety, hunter education, introduce Christian character and the awesome responsibility of protecting His creation. This course is open to boys and girls ages 9-17.

Texas State Law - Every hunter born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete a Hunter Education Training Course, or be *accompanied while hunting. Minimum age of certification is 9 yrs. * Accompanied means:  By a person who is at least 17, who is licensed to hunt in Texas, who has passed hunter education or is exempt (born before Sept. 2, 1971), and you must be within normal voice control. Proof of certification or deferral is required to be on your person while hunting. Note: Certification is not required to purchase a hunting license.

The cost for the Hunter Ed course is $15.00 per student which includes materials, certification upon passing exam & special instructional videos.  There is an additional $70.00 per camper to stay the weekend, which includes overnight lodging, meals, fishing, tackle & bait, rifles, ammo & targets, special guest speakers and awards.  Family members are invited Sunday for worship service, fishing and family picnic for $10.00 each. Children 6 & younger - free!
